Favio Landeira (b. 1967, Argentina) and Phil Luangrath (b. 1966, Laos) are an artist duo based in Miami, where they have worked together since 1996. Luangrath immigrated to the United States in 1980 and graduated with a degree in fine arts from California State University, Long Beach, in 1991. His creative path has been shaped by his love of drawing and his collaborations with artisans and jewelers around the world, translating his travel experiences into contemporary design and sculpture.
Landeira moved to the United States at eighteen, bringing with him a deep familiarity with metalwork developed during his childhood in his father’s factory. His passion for craft, tin toys, and automobiles continues to inform the intricate detailing of his art.
Together, Luangrath and Landeira explore the intersection of art, design, and sculpture through a process rooted in metal fabrication. Their latest body of work, inspired by the theme of Flora & Fauna, uses forged and stamped metal to depict butterflies and other natural forms as symbols of change and renewal. Each piece represents a dialogue between technical mastery and emotional depth, capturing the duo’s shared vision of transformation and creative evolution.
