The world was gifted with remarkable female artists throughout history who have played a pivotal role in enriching the arts. While this is easily recognizable today, women did not enjoy the same rights as men. Male artists were free to experiment and express their creativity, while female artists were not afforded the same opportunities.

Women in Art
September 08 2022
Throughout most of the 19th century, there were strict limitations on women's artistic training. Women seeking professional careers in the fine arts were denied access to both public and private institutions because they were not permitted to work with nude models as they were deemed inappropriate and even dangerous to proper young ladies. However, even in the face of challenges and obstacles, talented female artists emerged from the shadows. Women became more enamored and involved in the art world; they were no longer limited to being merely inspirational or model art subjects. The widespread recognition of the work of female artists has accelerated, and now the finest artists consist of a large number of women, ranging from design, visual, and cultural to performance arts.
Women at Eden Gallery
Exclusive Eden Gallery artist Dorit Levinstein is a creative force that has pushed through the historically male-dominated area of the art world. Born in 1956, Levinstein studied art and design throughout her life. She received a bachelor's degree in graphic design and illustration and a second degree in painting and sculpture. The artist continues her studies by exploring the relationship between the self and the surrounding world.
Through creating colorful and eye-catching sculptures, each work of art requires intricate attention to detail. Being both a painter and sculptor, each element in her sculptures is integral to the artwork and represents her artistic identity as a whole. In addition, her thought-provoking artwork is intended to start a conversation with the viewer through a vibrant color palette that illuminates each sculpture.
Art can be seen as a powerful medium to introduce the world from a woman's point of view. Metis Atash is as dynamic as the Swarovski crystals sculptures she creates, redefining the meaning of living and introducing a new artistic medium to the rest of the world. Combining conceptual, minimalist, and pop art traditions, the Eden Gallery artist uses various materials from fiberglass to iron, cement, and wood to create a breathtaking visual. Each sculpture is one-of-a-kind and holds its personality and charisma, radiating a presence far more significant than its size.
