In Timothée’s House, Angelo Accardi constructs a surreal interior where pop iconography, classical sculpture, and personal mythology coexist. The central portrait, evoking the quiet intensity of Timothée Chalamet, is framed like a suspended relic, hovering between intimacy and spectacle. Surrounding him, Accardi’s signature ostriches stride across a checkered floor, their presence both playful and unsettling, blurring the boundary between observer and observed. The stark contrast between the dark, cosmic background and the vivid red of the figure amplifies a sense of psychological space, an imagined “house” where fame, vulnerability, and identity intersect. As in much of Accardi’s work, reality bends into allegory, inviting the viewer to wander freely through layers of culture, memory, and contemporary myth.
